I am a master’s student in the Integrated Ocean Studies program at the University of Azores. I obtained my BSc degree in Biology and Geology at the University of Minho, in 2021. During the BSc study, I obtained theoretical and practical knowledge in key subjects related to biology and geology. During the MSc, I acquired theoretical and practical knowledge connected to marine biology, oceanography, and conservation & management of the oceans and all that it includes. During the summer 2022, I was one of the 20 students selected for the 2022 Marine Robotics Summer School on the island of Faial, in the Azores. The 2022 Marine Robotics Summer School was organized by the MIT Portugal Program in collaboration with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), LSTS (FEUP), and Okeanos - Institute of Marine Sciences (University of Azores). Currently, I am working on my master’s thesis on the subject “Spatial and temporal patterns of sperm whale sounds in the Azores archipelago”.
