My scientific research activities focus on understanding deep sea ecosystems with a focus on investigating emerging pollutants that result from human activities such as microplastic pollution, mining and climate change (Global change); knowledge of the impact of climate change on the nutritional quality of commercial fish species and the potential for valorization of fishing by-products (Blue economy); communication of scientific knowledge, awareness raising and training of students, consumers and the fishing sector (ocean literacy)
