Coordinator of the Department of Oceanography and Fisheries at the Faculty of Sciences at the University of the Azores (DOP/FCT-UAc). Director of the Master Course in Integrated Studies of the Oceans and the License course in Ocean Sciences from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at UAc. Also, Director of the CTeSP – RAM course: “Superior Professional Technician in Maritime Resources and Activities” from the School of Technology and Administration of the Polytechnic Higher Education of the UAc. For the last 25 years she is the team leader of the Oceanography Group at DOP/FCT-UAc. She is also a researcher at the Okeanos Institute of Marine Sciences, the IMAR - Institute of Marine Research, NEREUS Group, among others.
