General shark (and ray) lover - specifically obsessed with sphyrnids. Trying to understand the spatial ecology of elasmobranchs, ergo stalk sharks and rays in all ways possible. Studying the potential use of geomagnetic cues in the orientation and navigation of sharks and rays around volcanic islands for a PhD. Currently investigating the effect of the geomagnetic field on trans-oceanic migration of elasmobranch megafauna. Also interested in trying to understand the socio-economic factors that influence elasmobranch fisheries - and incorporating this into livelihood and sustainability-friendly fisheries management.
