OKEANOS

From 13 to 18 September, OKEANOS researchers participated in Ocean Optics XXVII, held in Ghent, Belgium. The international conference brings together researchers working on ocean optics, marine observation, and the application of new technologies to ocean research.

Tiago Serpa and Joana Domingues, from the OKEANOS Oceanography team, represented the institute at the conference, where three research works were presented as posters:

In addition to the poster presentations, Tiago Serpa and Joana Domingues each took part in a conference lightning talk, presenting their respective posters in just 30 seconds — a challenge that required them to communicate the key aspects of their research in a concise and engaging format.

“This conference gave us the opportunity to share preliminary results from ongoing MSc and PhD research within the Oceanography team. It was also an enriching experience that allowed us to connect with the ocean optics community and learn about new techniques and challenges emerging with advances in technology and knowledge in the field of remote sensing.”
