About Rachel Lacoste
Learn more about Rachel Lacoste in this biography or autobiography
During my studies, I learned about cinema. My idea was to make nature documentaries. Since I wanted to understand what I would talk about in my movies, I also studied a degree in marine biology in La Rochelle (France). Now my objective changed a little, instead of dedicating myself to documentary I would like learn science mediation and animation in general. I started in Okeanos in 2023 to do an internship in the Azores Deep Sea Research group. I work with video footage from the Drift Cam, ROVs and submarines to create a short clip for each sea-mount. In these clips, I have to enhance the diversity of fauna to illustrate what is described in the Atlas of Deep Sea. I also take part in the laboratory, monitoring larvae of a cold water coral (Dentomuricea aff. meteor) and to help with others tasks.
